You may chat with your local PDF file open in a browser using our extension.

⚠️
This is very important.👉 Before using our extension, make sure the Allow access to file URLs is enabled in the settings for our Chrome extension. Right click the extension > Manage extension > Enable "Allow access to file URLs"

  1. Open any file on your computer using Google Chrome, and make sure that our extension is added to your browser.

  1. Once the document is opened, select the chat icon in the lower-right corner.

      If you are not logged on, a prompt may appear asking you to log in to the extension.
  1. A pop-up will appear asking for your permission for our server to read your file.

      If you want the said file to be private, you may click on “Do not save this document on your server.
  1. You may start a chart with your local file.

 

Troubleshoot

File upload failed with 403 error code

The issue exists in older version (before 0.10.8). It’s because your PDF file name has spaces, which further leads to a bug that causes uploading to AWS S3 failed.

To workaround the 403 error, just remove any empty spaces from your file name
